Tombstone Observatory

The “Tombstone Observatory” formerly “Tombstone Asteroid Hunter Observatory” (TAHO) was completed 26-Jun-07. Ground breaking on the Obs was in July of 2006. This wild hair on building an Obs has been a dream since Jan 2000. Have a few cosmetics to finish, then the 12” LX200 classic will be mounted. Before the scope is mounted, I’m going to let this monsoon season have a go at testing the water proofing of the dome.

The structure is a 10 x 10’ x 6’celiling stick built w/ studs on 12” centers. The dome is an 8' x 53.0” Explora-Dome manufactured by the PolyDome Company in Minnesota.

Visit www.tombstoneobservatory.org for more on the construction phase.

Clear skies.
