Doug Snyder

Doug Snyder owns and operates a southern Arizona observatory
named Palominas Starhaven Observatory (PSO). Doug is a passionate amateur astronomer and is the co-discoverer of Comet Snyder/Murakami (C/2002E2).
A main belt asteroid has been named in his honor for his many successful anti-light pollution efforts. This asteroid is designated (15512) Snyder.
Doug Snyder is also a Past President of the Huachuca Astronomy Club (HAC). He served in that office for three terms (2004-2006).
Doug is also a contributor to NASA's Night Sky Network through the HAC in Arizona, and the club is also a participating organization of the Astronomical League. He is also very proud to be a member of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific and the International Occultation Timing Association (IOTA) , as well as the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA). He has also become an active member of the SLOOH live, remote telescope community worldwide and he encourages you to think about joining this outstanding astronomical endeavor. International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009)
Doug Snyder gave a talk on the International Year of Astronomy (IYA2009) at the Jan. 9, 2009 meeting of the
Huachuca Astronomy Club. He had a PowerPoint presentation created by the International Astronomical Union (IAU),
and also had some handouts for the attendees.
