A New Observatory Nears First Light -- MGO
A new observatory is nearing "first light." Its name will be the Mr. Galaxy Observatory (MGO), after its owner, Wayne Johnson, who carries the nickname "Mr. Galaxy" for his many supernovae discoveries. A Member Star Party will be held at the MGO, near Benson, Arizona, for the Huachuca Astronomy Club on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, beginning at 6 p.m.
Wayne says that this may not be an actual "first light" celebration, since the observatory is not complete yet. However, Wayne thinks that it may be close enough for a "near-first light" party. Progress will continue towards completion and "first light" as time permits.
