Win a Telescope

A new 3-inch Celestron Newtonian telescope was donated to the club with the instructions that it be given to a worthy HAC Junior Astronomer. Therefore, the HAC would like to announce an essay contest. The winner will be awarded the telescope.

Essay Contest Announcement

Any son or daughter (16 years of age or younger) of a HAC member that wants to win this telescope needs to write a one-page essay (300 words or less) on this topic: "If I Had a Telescope."

All entries must be accompanied by an Essay Contest Entry Form. Please select one of the following formats:

All essays will be judged and voted on by the HAC Board of Directors meeting on the Wednesday prior to the regular June HAC meeting, held on Friday, June 20th, at Cochise College, Sierra Vista, Arizona. The results of the vote will be final and the winning Junior Astronomer will be notified and presented with the telescope that night.

Deadline for Essays: Tuesday, June 18, 7 p.m. MST.
